Your Save the Date is your announcement that lets everyone know that a formal invitation is to follow.  When you have secured your ceremony and reception venue, you officially have a wedding date. Having your engagement pictures to use for your Save the Date are perfect as a way to showcase your personalities and love that you have for one another.  Your Save the Date will get everyone excited about your wedding day, and most importantly your family and friends can free up their calendars to send you a speedy RSVP after your formal invitation arrives.

As I  mentioned, your Save the Date is the perfect way for you and your fiance to have some fun and let your love shine in front of the camera.  If you have decided on your wedding colors, you could even wear those colors for your engagement photos.  Another thing to consider is having a trial hair and makeup run with your hair and makeup artist for your engagement pictures.  I also always suggest that a couple bring two different outfits for their engagement photos.  This way you have more variety in your final gallery to choose from, and can choose between a casual or more dressy look for your Save the Date announcement.  Lastly, I would suggest that you choose a location that is meaningful to you.  Did he propose on the beach, at your favorite ice cream shop, or maybe strolling downtown and enjoying the city is what you love to do together. Whatever means the most to you, try to incorporate that into your engagement photos.

What I love most, is when your friends  say that your pictures make them smile because they are genuinely who you are.  So have so fun, and enjoy your engagement photo session together. There are a many other ways to use your engagement photos, but Save the Dates are always perfect!

Here is a beautiful, engaged couple that I photographed a few months ago.  To any of their friends that may be reading this, the dates listed are not their actual wedding dates.(Thought I should add that to be on the safe side)  These are sample Save the Date announcements that I now offer to engaged couples.  As you can see, their Save the Date reflects the two different looks for their photos.  Aren’t they cute!

So, get your engagement photo session booked to have beautiful Save the Dates to send out to all of your family and friends to announce your big day!
